There is more to Heschel than the classroom. Much, much more. From our boys' and girls' athletic programs, to community service and musical theatre, there are a multitude of opportunities to expand a student's experience. We encourage an active Student Council which puts students in leadership roles on our campus and in the community.
Our athletics programs give students the opportunity to demonstrate teamwork and sportsmanship. We had a great athletic season and are eager for next year. Our coaches are delighted to have the opportunity to work with your children and they take great pride in the unique approach we take to introducing competitive sports to our students.
The arts is a core pillar in a Heschel education. The visual and performing arts are an integral part of our curriculum and a key part of nurturing the whole child. Starting in kindergarten and continuing through the 8th grade, students are involved in a wide range of classes in the visual and performing arts that interweave skill development, creative thinking, and understanding of the historical and cultural context of the arts. Musical theatre plays a big role in our performing arts department and draws a large number of student participants, from actors, to choreographers, to costume designers, and production staff. The video below takes you into the set design exploratory which supports each musical theater production.
Each child is essential to the life of our school. The opportunities for students to find their voice and to express themselves through study and extracurricular programs are expansive. As we say at Heschel, "The possibilities are endless."
"Few are guilty, but all are responsible."
