The Heschel Fund

It's the power of 100%.

We are fortunate to have a committed and generous community that strongly supports our school. The most important gift every family can make each year is to the Heschel Fund.

Donors of $1,800 and above are invited to our donor recognition event.

Heschel plays a huge role in shaping our children's lives and we all have a responsibility to ensure the vitality and growth of the School. Heschel students receive an extraordinary education that costs more than the tuition we pay and this is why we each must contribute every year to the Heschel Fund. Consider this:

  • Professional development opportunities for our faculty ensure an advanced and relevant curriculum.
  • New programs, such as the STEAM curriculum in our Innovation Center, require new tools of technology, such as iPads and 3D printers, a green screen, digital design and video editing software, and more.
  • Special events, such as field trips, concerts, and speaker series, require additional resources to ensure optimum experiences for our children.
  • Extracurricular activities, such as athletics and visual and performing arts, thrive when students have the best in sports equipment, musical instruments, and more.
  • Competitive salaries for faculty ensure we recruit and retain the highest quality teachers.

Why is parent participation so important?

Parent participation in the Heschel Fund is vital to the school in many ways:

The school is often evaluated by outside funding sources, including foundations and corporations that are potential donors. They look at the parent participation level in terms of percentages and dollars when they make a decision to fund Heschel.

Parent giving helps us leverage other gifts, such as corporate matching gifts. If a parent works for a company that will match a gift, often that company will match the gift by 2 to 3 times.

The school is evaluated by outside accrediting bodies, such as CAIS (California Association of Independent Schools) and WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges). Once again, parent participation indicates that our community is actively involved in the success of our school.
