High School Placement

High School Placement

In a multi-step progression, Heschel administrators guide our 8th grade students and parents to select high school programs to which the student is most qualified, as well as to those which are well aligned with the family’s educational goals and philosophy. Each November, Heschel hosts a High School Night in which eighth grade students and their parents are invited to hear a panel of Heschel alumni articulate their experiences from a range of schools, both public and private... Jewish day schools as well as secular independent schools.

Graduates from the Class of 2014
reunite at Heschel before heading off to college.

We offer to meet with each family to discuss options and prioritize their interests. After students are accepted to their individual schools, administrators work with families to evaluate their options and decide on a school that will offer their children maximum success. Administrators visit prospective schools and meet with Directors of Admission to ensure a smooth transition for our students. In addition, Heschel administrators follow up with a meeting to learn of the progress and success of each student. Our students demonstrate a high rate of acceptance to their top choices and thrive in their respective schools.

Recent graduates are currently attending a variety of respected independent and public schools including The Archer School for Girls, Brentwood School, The Buckley School, Calabasas High School, Campbell Hall, Chaminade College Preparatory School, Cleveland High School, Granada Hills High School, Harvard-Westlake, Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, LA Hebrew High, Marlborough School for Girls, Milken Community High School, New Community Jewish High School, Notre Dame, Oak Park High School, Oakwood School, Providence High School, Sierra Canyon School, Taft High School, Thousand Oaks High School, and Viewpoint School.

"The Heschel journey is distinct for every child. Working with parents, we guide students on a path that is compatible with their aspirations and abilities."
